I had been asked to pay a bribe of 25000 for a Registration of my purchased land in varthur. The registration charges though were only 9000+ we paid a lumpsome amount of 35000.
Reason as said by the broker who is actually a staffer in the office that "Registrations were officially stopped by the government, but only on due authentication from officials they can get the registration done. To make it happen they need to pay the bribe starting from a staffer to the commissioner and above and that shall cost them 25K".
As observed atleast one descency among the bribe taking wherein they were demading on per Registration basis and not as per the value of the plot. Thus irrespective of if you have purchased for 5 lac or 25 lac, you were been requested to pay a descent amount of 25 thousand only (should I :) or :( )
Can't these be monitored? Can't these be made systematic so that we pay a pixed amount that is valued genuinely?
