Being a foreign national and having been applied for the citizenship on marriage ground, as per the rule, to complete seven consecutive years of legal stay in India, I have to apply for the extension of visa each year to the authority in Mirza Galib Street, Kolkata. This office then directs the concerned DIB office in Barasat to conduct an inquiry and submit the report on basis of which the visa is extended. Here, I had to pay each year to get the report written and sent. No money, no report or a report after extreme delay. Shameless officials demanded money even from a cancer patient.
