I was a student in Goa a year back. As many of you may know, a lot of people hire cars in Goa for a day or two just to roam around the place. Incidentally, I having been staying in Goa for 3 years had a goan friend who lent me and my friends his car for the weekend. We decided to take the car for a spin around the Baga beach stretch at 2am. When we were on a less crowded road, a policeman stopped us, and immediately asked for my license as i was driving the car. I gave him my license, he said "Oh, so you u are not goan". I replied that i am a student i goa. The cop then said that there is a rule which says Rented cars cannot be driven in Goa. I said i have no knowledge of such a rule.He then told me to come to the police station and collect my license and that he would also have to take the car to the police station. He said that another option would be to pay him 5000rs bribe. After pleading with him for a long time, he agreed for 1000rs.
