Police harrasment

I had rented my villa to a young couple taking a security deposit & fixed rent of Rs.12,000/- per month. After 2 months, I could not collect the rent despite repeated follow ups. Just then, Police came & arrested the tenant for stealing jewellery.
The tenant informed that he had no money as he had paid security deposit. Police demanded the same from me & did not allow me to recover my rent. On top of that they demanded Rs.15,000/- bribe so that case is not filed against me for harbouring a theif. I did not want to be involved in the case, so settled to pay Rs.10,000/-. My villa was damaged by the tenants, I did not get rent since time it was let & had to pay Police to avoid a case I had no role in. Lost hope in Indian *******
