Police takes bribe for not to arrest

Charge sheet was submitted by police before court no 1 in Banshall court Kolkata on 26th May 2015. Next date of hearing was fixed on 05/08/2015.

As per normal procedure the case was transferred to 6th bench in Banshall court on 27th May 2015.

On 28th May 2015 suddenly warrant of arrest was issued against two out of four accused persons.

On 24th June 2015 one accused person was arrested in Kolkata by Bartala thana officer Mr. Bikas Biswas. After negotiation with the party this Bikas Biswas took Rs 30,000/- from the party to release him. He said he had to share the money with officer-in-charge and other officers in police station. This money was taken around 9 PM outside Bartala Police Station.

On 26th June 2015 accused persons approached before 6th bench at Banshall court and they were enlarged on bail only after they paid further Rs 39,000/-. The share of cut as explained by the lawyer Mr. Jayanta Basu of Banshall court was as follows:
a) Lawyer fees of Jayanta Basu: 15,000/- (normal fees of that lawyer is Rs 2,000/-)
b) Peshkar of 6th MM court: Rs 6,000/-
c) Public Prosecutor: Rs 14,000/-
d) Other expenses: Rs 4,000/-

This is how people use judiciary and work with police to earn illegitimate money in India. Several lacks of rupees are transacted in most of the criminal courts in name of court officers and public prosecutors. The lawyers work as pimp.
