The police took bribe from me because of my ignorance

My office was in Bannerghata Road and i used to commute through the Lalbagh Double road and then come on to Bannerghata Road. There is a police officer (One with a bike) stands over there. I did commute through this road number of days but did not notice any one way.
On this day this police stopped me and asked fine from me. He asked 2000/-. I had no clue how much would the one way violation penalty is. Finally he took 300/- from me. I felt ghastly. This police man is still posted in the same spot. Later on found that one way violation is Rs.100/-. I'm sure the police man would be found at this spot and he is earning bribe regularly.
After this incident i went and read the traffic violation fines and scolded police a couple of time and got a challan from them, if i had to pay a fine. I refuse to pay a bribe again.
