The officer was from the Byappanahalli police station. Name not known. This happened to my neighbour. Just demanded Rs. 1000/- after the job was done. As the person was a college student, and studying for exams, he did not resist, but gave the bribe. They had taken Rs. 500/- from me for myself and my wife several years ago (in 2012) after bargaining.

This appears to be standard practice which needs to be curbed - public pay fearing that their passport might get delayed if the bribe is not paid. Further they might face harassment
