My brother had got through a government job and before sending the offer, it required police verfication to be done. He was in office when they came to his rented flat and they called him to the police station next day. After taking all the documents, my brother automatically took out a 500 rs note and gave him. The police man replied - this wont do, its a goverment job, minimum 1000 rs is required. He had to pay 500 more.
