Power connection to Agriculture

Reported on July 9, 2011 from Vijayawada , Andhra Pradesh  ι Report #6517

As per rules which i was aware of, when the the distance to the nearest electricity pole/line from the place where electric connection(bore well) is required is more than certain a distance the norm as per Northern Power Distribution Company of AP Ltd is to erect 3 electricity poles per connection and if more poles are required consumer has to pay for the extra poles. When i applied for connection, AE working there, Mr.**********, demanded money. I'm totally against paying any bribe and forced my father not to pay any money. We were visiting the sub-station regularly and those who applied later to us got their agricultural connection approved, Poles erected at consumer's comfort. I waited for more than year and half and the water is mandatory during summer season as we grow mangoes in that land and summer is the only season we need water to those plants. My father decided to pay bribe what AE asked when we applied for the connection. Even after taking money, AE didn't approve connection...reason is he needs more money...bribe rate has gone up... and my father paid that money too...any finally 4 years after applying for agriculture connection we got what we needed.... everyone demanded money on the day poles are erected ...we had to pay line man, foreman, etc.. who all came on that day...

i'm ready to testify if any action is taken against that AE .. of Yerrupalem Sub stattion, khammam Dist. Andhra pradesh 2004 - 20007/8

Thank *******
