We went for registration of our apartment in B Narayanpura. The concerned BBMP office is in Varthur. The bribe amount arranged per flat was Rs 15000/- (for a flat price approximately Rs 50 Lakhs). I am not aware of even a single resident out of some 150 odd residents in our apartment complex who could get his/her flat registered without paying the bribe. The bribe amount was handed over in cash to our the representative from the builder.
I guess this would not come as a surprise to anybody, as this is an open secret. However, at the time of payment, I was really astounded at the massive scale of the operation and the fact that nobody questions the procedure.
