That's what it felt like when the policeman who came for passport verification "expected" a bribe from us for his efforts. He just sat there in the living room, staring shamelessly at my dad till we realised what he was waiting for. We obviously had no option as the last thing we wanted was to run into trouble with the passport just a few weeks before I had to go abroad. But it felt like I was being held at gunpoint in my own house. Really sad!
