Under the sikshan ********** abhiyan, the government has allocated huge amount of money which is meant for improvement / providing education. Under this scheme, the government of UP decided to buy 4000 computers with accessories. We were approached by a middleman to provide the same. We gave a proposal of Rs. 55,000 per computer (with accessories and services) and we were told that we should submit a proposal of Rs. 110,000 per computer instead. We were made to understand that out of the additional 55,000, 35,000 Rs. per computer will be paid to the government employees (all the way higher up) and 10,000 to the middle-men and balance 10,000 as additional profit for us!!!!!
However, there was only one catch, we had to give Rs. 1 Crore on receipt of a purchase order!!
We were also told that out of 4,500 computers, only 500 will actually be used and 4,000 will just rust in the godown!!
So much so for education!!
