Signal Hiding behind the tree

Reported on November 21, 2010 from Mumbai , Maharashtra  ι Report #29834

I was driving on the sealink, at the w o r l i end, there is a signal behind the trees, which is not noticable if you are driving there the first time.

I broke the signal and the traffic police stopped me and took my licence. At first he told me, I would have to collect the the licence later or pay Rs. 500. I told him I am sorry but I did not notice the signal, because it was behind the tree. And I told him he was letting others go (or rather the others just sped and went)
Then he came down to Rs. 100. He said he could not let me go cause his seniors were there. There were two traffic police jeeps along with a couple of his seniors.

I asked if I choose to collect my licence where would I have to go. He said that I was arging too much and that he would let me go with Rs. 50 bribe. I stay far from worli and the cost to collect my licence would be far more than the offer he was making. So I found myself paying Rs 50 to the traffic policeman infront of his seniors.
