The story of two laptops

I was returning back to India from USA where I have been working for two years. I was travelling light because it was a short trip. However I bought both my personal and business laptop (both used).

At the airport, just inside the final gate, there were 3-4 hawaldars sitting in. I was carrying one laptop bag and the other laptop was in the briefcase. The guy stopped me and asked me how many laptops do I have. Then he asked for my passport, and checked it out. Then he said u will have to pay customs. I was pretty sure I read that I am allowed personal used items. The guy straight away asked me if fir 80 dollars or else go thru customs. He said I need papers! And either i should pay or leave the offoxe laptop with the customs. So I ended up paying him half of what he asked for - I was desperate to ********** everybody.

I was so ashamed of my country at that pt than I have ever been before. With all the talks of rising india and blah blah blah, we still live in such a corrupt world. Here are people just sitting there to harass travelers. These are people who are supposed to protect us. Instead they are sitting there like vultures looking for their next prey. Makes me never wanna come back!
