I was on my way towards Whitefield, Bangalore to attend a meeting with a client. I apparently took a left turn at a spot where the traffic light that indicates a free left was not working. A cop standing at the junction flagged me down and asked for a fine of Rs. 100/- for jumping the stop sign. Not wanting to waste time, I paid up. The cop typed on his wireless blackberry device for five frustrating minutes, before finally walking away saying that he was unable to connect to the network, and so he would give me the receipt on 'some other day'!
