I was coming from mumbai central after dropping somebody at the railway station . While coming back I was confused between two ways and accidentally took a wrong turn .There i stopped my car to open google maps and lookout for the right way . Suddenly a traffic constable came and asked me for my papers.I took out my phone after the wrong turn and used it only when I was at complete halt . The constable charged me for use of phone while driving and having fancy number plate which I do not feel is a fancy plate.People in maharashtra use hindi format which is totally not readable and I was accused for fancy number plate . He told me the fine was 2200/- which sounded really fishy but since i did not knew the price I had to believe him . I told him to prove me the fine is 2200 and I am ready to pay which got him aggressive and he started asked me to collect my license from court and he started his bike. Now I was new to the city and didn't know anything so i apologized for this question and wanted to solve this matter ASAP .I started giving out cash which he saw and said give me 1200 and I'll leave you . that's when i found that he was asking for bribe I settled it down for 500 and went away . And when I came home i checked it online and the actual price for fine was 1300 ( according to some website ) .
