It was a bright Saturday morning I guess it was 7th Aug 2010., I had to buy some stuff from SP road. I parked my bike under the safe custody of a sign saying “P”. The Traffic police guys along with their friends to whom they have given the contract to take the vehicles parked illegally to a safe location from where they can fleece the money.
To my surprise my bike was taken by them in 60 Sec, once I traced my Bike I tried to reason with them why it was taken from the place marked for parking they said that the front tire was few inches off the white line, well I am till now not able to locate the white line.
They told me to wait at Halasur Police station, after 2 hours the tow truck having bikes came not to mention fully loaded. These contractors were demanding Rs 300 and would not give any receipt to release the Bike.
After some negotiation they release the Bike at Rs 200 and not to mention no receipt.
Bangalore traffic police is running a very successful extortion business with the help of Contractors under the nose of Government.
