We Indians Love India

We Indians LOVE India
********** can you please make it fast, the movie is at 12 and you are not ready yet. **********, ********** ,********** , ********** , guys please hurry up, we will get late for the movie. This is the story of every youngster going for a movie on a weekend. Like every other person I was equally excited to go for the new movie. My other reason of excitement was I was meeting my friends after more than two years. Staying abroad made me miss everything in India, my family, my friends, Hindi movies, CHATS.....I remember the day when I started my 6 months break so that I can spend some time in India with my family and friends. I was so happy and excited. But the day I landed in India, my excitement level came down drastically. Reading newspaper everyday made me feel sick. Almost all the pages were filled with corruption and crime. It felt like the country has come to a dead end. Now nothing can be done about it. Even if we try and start to take action, I guess it will take ages to figure out at which level we shall start. Right from bottom to top, everyone is after money and behind their own convenience. During voting period the government and all the political parties distribute money to poor saying this is their money for getting more and more votes. But the ministers have totally forgotten that this money belongs to people who give 8-9 and sometime 11-12 hours a day at work and pay tax. This money is meant to be spent for this working class convenience and not for throwing it to poor people for votes. If ministers actually want to help “POOR INDIA” why do not they spend money from their pocket? But they cannot. They are busy spending India’s money by buying lands, hotels and mines all across the world. Every minister on this date owns property worth millions. And if we go back to the history of these ministers, they were labourers, carpenters with zero education level.
The only hope now left for India is the Young Generation. Few youngsters are so excited to do something for their country. Like me they also abuse all the ministers and the corruption and crime. I was really happy that few people are there who will and can make some difference to this country. Anyways I was talking about the movie day. I got ready for the movie about the end of this world “2012”. I took a rickshaw from my sister’s house to the movie hall. The rickshaw driver seemed to be a Hindu. Highly influenced y his culture he had put Hindu God’s pictures almost everywhere in his Rickshaw. The moment he drove for around 100 meters he turned back and told me he is going to charge Rs.20 extra from the meter reading. I did not say anything. On my way I saw one bike guy caught by the Traffic Police for breaking the rules. He asked the police not to make a receipt of the fine as it would charge him more. He directly bribed the traffic police by giving him some money and went away. This is how he showed his LOVE to HIS COUNTRY. Bribing at all this small level leads to big corruption. When I reached the cinema hall, I saw that the rickshaw meter was totally rigged. Using a GPS enabled cell phone, I knew that the distance between my house and the hall was 9kms but rickshaw meter charged me for 17kms. Almost double from the actual and on top of it he was asking me for Rs. 20 extra. I felt ridiculous. This was his love for his culture and country. I lost my temper and yelled at the driver. I had to pay what the meter was showing but did not pay anything extra. Totally irritated by these experiences I finally went to the hall where I met my friends. It made me feel better to see my friends. When we went inside the hall, I saw the same bike guy who was bribing the traffic police. At that moment I saw everyone in the hall stood up. I was totally confused and then I saw at the screen The National Anthem of our country was being played. At that time I could see the LOVE of WE INDIANS for INDIA. We do crime and corrupt our OWN COUNTRY at each and every level but we stand up to show our love to INDIA when we hear NATIONAL ANTHEM. This hypocrisy of WE INDIANS towards our OWN COUNTRY is ruining INDIA. When we go abroad, we say we are from India, a country of culture and say WE INDIANS LOVE INDIA. But saying from my personal experience I have hardly seen any one following the Indian culture there. We all are busy fooling our own self. Staying away from our family we totally forget what culture and country we belong to. It is really good to take good things from other cultures. We easily accept the drinking, smoking, pubbing culture, and things like one night stand, defacto relationship and all but why it is difficult to learn the good things. Things like no bribe, respecting human value, keeping the country clean and all. If we all take simple and small initiative of accepting our mistakes, paying for our mistakes, respecting each other and eventually respecting our country, then proudly we can say WE INDIANS LOVE *******
