I lost my way and whatever was in my wallet!
It happened few years ago when I moved to Bangalore from Mumbai. I got the transfer certificate for my Ration Card. On coming to Bangalore, I was looking for someone who is familiar to the department to get my Bangalore ration card issued. One Agent took the assignment but nothing worked. On repeated follow ups, I was told that I need to go the department to get the same done. I told the agent that if I need to do the work, obviously I don't need him.
Landed up in the department at 1pm and was anticipating a nightmare. The officer in charge just got up from his chair for lunch break. He was polite enough to understand my case and instructed the concerned people to get my digital photo clicked and issue the new ration card. I was out by 1.30 pm and the work was done during official lunch time and not spending any money at all. I was pleasantly surprised by the incident and endorses my view that all are not same. There are some clean people who keeps the machinery moving. After that day, I never engage any middleman.
