Leaving India

Reported on June 6, 2011 from New Delhi , Delhi  ι Report #31976

I was told that I was travelling on a stolen passport as the photo did not match that to my face. I was told that I faced jail and would need to go with security unless something could be "arranged." As I was leaving India I told them that I didn't have any cash to give them but they should call my uncle who lived only 20 minutes away and he would be able to "arrange" whatever was needed. I put his business card on the counter and when the guy saw it, he couldn't stamp my passport quick enough and told me to have a "nice trip" He waved to the security guard and they walked me through, I didn't even have to get my hand luggage x-rayed!!

The business card that frightened them so much... My uncle was the retired head of *******
