Try to make a fool of you if you don't know the rules!!
Landed at Lucknow airport from Dubai. Was carrying a 32inch Sony LCD television in my luggage..As soon as the luggage arrived, the customs dept guys were the first to reach out and started asking questions. I simply knew that the limit for duty free items is upto Rs 25,000 and the invoice was for USD 400 (INR 18,000 approx). Was asked to pay something to take it out from there...i asked why ? was told that u have to pay duty on it...when explained the rules to them, the guys looked so SAD that this guy knows the simple rule :)....despite knowing all this , the next line was..."Sir, chai paani to kuch de dijiye!! "...i said "for what ?" .....The reply showed the level of self respect these guys hold for themselves...infact a begger would be better than them...The reply was "Apne desh aaye hain,,,isi ********** mein de do !!" (you have come back to your country, plz pay for the happiness only !!)...GOD don't know what will happen to the Mayawati state if this continues
