There are nearly 20 electoral reforms pending with the Government / Parliament. Every time a general election is held, one of the items included in the party manifesto is that they will usher in electoral reforms, if elected. But since 1985 (when ECI first suggested certain reforms), all Governments, irrespective of party affiliations, at the center, have ignored this most important issue of reforms that would have ushered in transparency and accountability in the democratic process for ensuring good governance of the country.
