Yesterday 26.04.14, I had a similar experience in sealdah GRPF, Like every day I start journey from Naihati, since my wife with me and I have little late in my schedule, I caught Ladies Special and went to Vendor. After reaching sealdah suddenly saw five-six GRPF run into the Vendor and pick few innocent guys, among them I also there. They start treat as we are the Professional criminals. Thousands of people are watching we have been caught by GRPF and taken into their custody. After reaching Custody, I said to pay the Fine but the official said we do not have the authority to take fine, we will produce you on court and there after you will be realised and applied many more techniques to create panic and do harassment. My wife along with other ladies (wife of other sufferer) standing outside of the custody and beg their husband release but the official as strict line we are Terrorist.
In between, among us few of the person has start giving reference of Railway official, politicians and others and accordingly they have been released even without any fine. It was really a good understanding, that law is not for all, its for those, we has not have any references. However GRPF interrogating goes upto one and half hrs. After that they introduce one lawyer and he filed few forms and took my signature and ask Rs. 600 and said It is the spot fine amount, pay it or take release from Sealdah court only. Never the less, since I am agreeing to pay, I said Ok. After that I said receipt of the same and told this has been require to show in my office, since I am late by 2 hrs. Now they start arguing and again said " no you have to seat for another hrs to meet our officials". I do not have time and as I told my wife standing just outside the custody, otherwise I may share few other memories also and finally all Rs. 600 went to GRPF team pocket, who are work to protect railway to provide better Service.... great.. and this is the Law of the land... My reasons to sharing my experience is to; beware of such situation and if possible raise your voice to the appropriate authority so that similar type of experience do not happen with other friends...
