I was travelling from Bhubaneswar to Bramhapur for urgent work. I reached Station bhubaneswar with Unreserved ordinary ticket and found that the Intercity has been cancelled. So i have to take very next train so that I can reach Bramhapur by time. The next train was the superfast one and I didn't have time to get the Rs9.00 super fast ticket. The TTE caught me just before Bramhapur and asked me to pay Rs 260.00 fine. I was ready to pay the fine with the proper bill but I found that somebody pick pocketed me. I have only left with Rs 120.00 in my shirt only. The TTE took me to the Office at Bramhapur, where about 5 people are standing for not having Superfast tickets. Their all TTEs (around 7 TTEs) taking money from somebody as bribe. They forced me to pay Rs 100.00 as bribe to get released from them. I had no option but to pay as i was getting too late. I got the conclusion from the experience that all the TTEs allover India are taking bribe but no necessary step has been taken to stop it. As the fine amount is too high people are ready to pay the low bribe. The Fault is with the Policies of railway itself or they permitted the TTEs to take bribe.
