Dear Raghu, I have signed your petition to the government. I have to ask though, what makes you believe that 1million signatures will influence the government? We have a billion people in our country. I would like to believe that the overwhelming majority of us would not support corruption, are not corrupt. Yet we have allowed the country to reach a level of corruption that is embarassing. Yes WE have allowed this to the extent that now we take part in it without blinking! I live in the UK and was very interested to see on your video that bribing an official of other country is on the UN list. Throughout its history the UK has bought power and business abroad by bribing governments. Is the UK signed up to this? But I don't have to bribe the policeman to get service! Your commnents would be appreciated.

Its a great initiative. I support and spread this. But I feel this alone will not solve the problem. I think people should know their rights in government offices and need to be educated to show responsibilities. People want shortcut and service. If they won't get, they pay bribe and get it done. I have lot more questions.

We need more of such factual content on presenting the effects of corruption at each level of society. To help make progress in this battle to root out corruption, do you believe we could create a path, a phased approach, something that does not scare anyone and shows its positive effects and builds a movement that can not be stalled or rolled back. Dear Mr.Raghu I do have an idea for controlling bribe. In all the bribing activity, the officers get their bribe by making citizens to come to them again and again by saying lame reasons and postponing the completion of work. When he/she is bribed you get the work done instantly. My idea is if every department and every office does issue an token in exchange for the application, stating the timeline within which each file should be finished, the bribery would be controlled greatly. For example, for issuance of 'Land category certificate' in the Town planning office, why not the department issue an serial numbered application which when filled with all other necessary documents (with checklist provided in the application) and handed over to the concerned staff wherein the staff issues a token number to us as an evidence. The rule of the office shall be devised as such that the job of the officers is to finish the 'application request' in the order of token numbers within the general timeline for each file(such as 2 weeks- or stating a particular date). A faster work of officers becomes mandatory rather than they delaying the work and accepting bribe. Also a culture of dealing with the government offices without a bribe, will start blossoming. This idea can be compared to a method of Que(formed in Temple darshan, fastfood counters, etc). If a Que (i.e a token system with a timeline attached) is formed, Que members will take care that no one is intruding your way or you are really 'moving' in the Que. The important thing is that the timelines should not be too long and the token system must be transparent indicating the weekly completed tokens, along with the nature of work of each token of both completed and uncompleted files.The token must also take evidence about the documents submitted along with the application.Memo shall be issued to officers who stack token for lame reason. Please comment on this. How to make this idea function??
