Hi Raghu, Last year i got my passport reissued.The passport was delivered to my door step.I had changed my residence twice in one year.After i got my passport,i get a call from the police station asking me to come there for verification.I had to pay Rs300 as verification charges.A few days later i got a call from the police station where i had resided previously asking me to come there again for verification.I told the policeman that i have already received my passport and i wont come.He then threatened me saying that he would cancel my passport.I told him to do whatever he wants.After that i never got a call.I just wonder,since i didn't go to the police station,would my passport have been cancelled.Is there any way to find out the status of my passport? Hi Raghu, I have to go for getting my Flat registered next week at Dera Bassi, zirakpur, punjab (adjacent to chandigarh). I am told the running rate for getting registry done is 25K cash to Dera Bassi Tehsildar. Its very open and asked from everyone in front of everyone. This means everyone in authorities is involved i.e. Punjab revenues department, Vigilance commission, police and politicians. Builder has mentioned to give him all the amount in cash that will cover the - 7% of flat amount for Stamp paper - 30K for some receipt - 5K for Advocate - 5K for Lambardaar and witnesses - + 25K to Tehsildar To me it looks frustrating and helpless situation. There are no guidelines and there is clear process mentioned anywhere so that I could be prepared with right documents. Can you suggest how I can avoid feeding these corrupts? Thanks in anticipation. I live in a new RWA in Banaswadi where we purchased a flat couple of years ago. The Builder has asked all residents to get B Khata Transfer as he has spoken to the Jt. Commissioner BBMP and we are being asked to pay Rs. 7500 by cash or cheque to the Builder's GM. I suspect it is bribe. Some say B Khata is Bogus Khata and we should go for A Khata. There are differing views within RWA. I do not wish to pay bribe. Help us.
